Anna
Your teacher called daddy. You should have cuased a lot of trouble in your class.
Mark
But that ´s not correct.
Anna
Tell me what has happened at all?
Mark
Now, the evangelic pupils have been chaffing us for some time that they are going to receive the best and most expensive presents for her soon confirmation, but we unattached one are going to go away empty - handed.
Anna
...but that´s not true at all!
Mark
You are right we will receive exactly the same presents. Daddy said that all relatives of us had promised presents, even if we would not be confirmed.
Anna
With the exception of aunt Angelika.
Mark
It´s sure, we can only get presents from, if we are willing to be confirmed.
Anna
That are the typical Christian methods of blackmailing again.
Mark
That doesn´t matter. Daddy said he will give me a 100 Euro note for compensation.
Anna
Well, but in this case daddy has to stand a lost...
Mark
No, he said that he will save the next birthday present for aunt Angelika and on this way he will get his money back.
Anna
But in this case aunt Angelika will not also give a present to him for his birthday.
Mark
That´s no problem. Aunt Angelike made a present to him in kind of an ugly self - knitted bobble - cap at the last time. Probably the cap was given to the old - clothing collection in the meantime.
Anna
Hmm... Life is really complicated...
Mark
In each case I ´ve told this story to everybody at school...
Anna
...and now?
Mark
Now the evangelic kids became jealous on the contrary of us because we can receive presents without having to attend the confirmation - lessons and without being confirmed.
Anna
That seems to be logical, they are thinking the matters are unfair.
Mark
They are right at all, but we are not responsible for it.
Anna
You are right. I also think each kid should receive presents and the grown - ups are not allowed to blackmail kids with it.
Mark
Daddy said, if we kids were blackmailied, it will be hard for us to become respectable grown - ups. We would also blackmail other people, because this behaviour is quite normal.
Anna
...but, let´s be honest: Is there anybody who would be willing to be confirmed in a voluntary way?
Mark
I think there might be two or three pupils in our class who would do so.
Anna
But is it all the same to the church whether the kids are being confirmed in a voluntary way or not?
Mark
It seems so, because otherwise the church would tell the parents not to force their kids to be conformed.
Anna
That means the intention of the church by getting new members prefers more quantity than quality?
Mark
You cannot say it in a better way...
